Description

PIERRE is an IoT platform for residential and commercial automation. Its architecture is hybrid: part of the system runs locally in the building and part in the cloud, so the installation keeps working when the internet connection does not.

The Four Parts of the System

  • Hardware and firmware — the controllers, gateways and displays installed in the building.
  • Local (edge) services — running on the display or gateway, they keep the system operating offline: local control, local storage and data synchronisation once the connection returns.
  • Cloud services — remote access, notifications, synchronisation between sites, and third-party integrations.
  • Applications — the apps used by end users and by partners.

Hardware

  • PIERRE Controller — the central device of a wired system.
  • PIERRE Lock Controller — access management.
  • PIERRE Gateway — connects the wireless devices.
  • PIERRE Displays — room control, local server and intercom in one unit.
  • PIERRE Intercoms — access management and communication.

All devices support remote firmware updates.

Applications

  • Smart PIERRE app — for end users, to control devices and automations.
  • PIERRE Partner app — for certified partners, to configure the system.
  • PIERRE Launcher — supervises the displays, handles their updates and manages their network configuration.

Partner-Facing Web Tools

  • Key Sharing — digital key management.
  • PIERRE B2B Platform — for partners to create offers and order products.
  • PIERRE Portal — web dashboard for property management.
  • PIERRE Operations Platform — web dashboard for building and device management.
  • PIERRE Wiki — the partner knowledge base.
  • EV charger integration — through the OCPP standard.

What This Means on Site

  • Local control continues during an internet outage. Remote access, notifications and cloud-dependent integrations do not.
  • Communication between the devices and the platform is encrypted.
  • Because the local part is what keeps the building running, position the display or gateway that hosts it deliberately — it is not just a screen.
  • Anything a project depends on during an outage — door release, heating, gate — must be built on local logic rather than on a cloud-side rule.
