Data Storage & Security
PIERRE stores the necessary system data on secure servers hosted by Hetzner in Germany, within the European Union.
This allows us to synchronize user settings and access credentials when devices are replaced, new systems are integrated, or existing installations are updated.
All relevant data is protected through encryption and security measures designed to prevent unauthorized access.
Facial Recognition & Biometric Data
An important distinction is that PIERRE does not store actual facial images or fingerprints on its cloud servers for access identification.
Instead, the system uses unique identifiers associated with individual users. These identifiers are used internally to manage access permissions and synchronize devices.
This means that, in the event of a server security breach, the stored identifiers would not themselves reveal a user's face or fingerprint or allow someone to reconstruct the original biometric information.
User Privacy & Data Deletion
Users maintain control over their access credentials.
When a user removes their facial recognition profile or deactivates their account, the associated identifier is deleted from our system rather than retained unnecessarily.
We also offer alternative access configurations for projects with specific privacy requirements:
-
Facial recognition can be completely disabled.
-
A shared PIN code can be configured, without associating it with a specific individual.
This provides flexibility for residential, hospitality, and commercial installations.
GDPR & RED Cybersecurity Requirements
PIERRE's approach to data handling is designed around GDPR principles, including data minimization, secure processing, and the deletion of information when it is no longer required.
Our cybersecurity approach also takes into account the applicable requirements of the RED Cybersecurity Requirements.
Our priority is to provide a secure and reliable access control solution while minimizing the personal information stored within our infrastructure.
I hope this clarifies how PIERRE manages user data and addresses the concerns regarding biometric information and privacy.
