Overview

The PIERRE Wave 1 Gang Dimmer Module operates on a 220-240V AC 50/60Hz power supply and supports up to 150W of dimmable load. It communicates using the PIERRE Wave protocol, ensuring a reliable and responsive connection with a compatible gateway hub. This module’s design eliminates the need for a neutral wire, offering flexibility in installation while maintaining stable operation through a low-voltage TRIAC-based dimming circuit.

The PIERRE Wave 1 Gang Dimmer Module offers intelligent control through the PIERRE Smart home system and can be combined with compatible gateways to create a robust home automation network. Even in cases of network instability or disconnection, local control ensures continued operation, maintaining lighting control within the local area network.

3. System Requirements

The PIERRE Wave (Zigbee 3.0, 2.4 GHz) system consists of the following components.

Required

  1. PIERRE Wave products: switches, modules, sensors, thermostats and other devices. They connect wirelessly to the gateway.
  2. Gateway: a PIERRE display and/or gateway. It links all PIERRE Wave devices and handles the communication with the app.

Optional

  1. Smart PIERRE app: control and monitoring from a smartphone or tablet. Not required for basic operation.
  2. Router: gives the gateway internet access for remote control.

Operation: the gateway connects to the router by Wi-Fi or LAN. PIERRE Wave products communicate wirelessly with the gateway in both directions: commands are sent and status updates are received through the Smart PIERRE app.

4. Installation

Warnings:

  • Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with local regulations.
  • Keep the device out of reach of children.
  • Keep the device away from water, damp or hot environments.
  • Install the device away from strong signal sources such as microwave ovens that may cause signal interruption resulting in abnormal operation of the device.
  • Obstruction by concrete wall or metallic materials may reduce the effective operation range of the device and should be avoided.
  • Do NOT attempt to disassemble, repair or modify the device.

5. Manual Override

The switch Dimmer terminal reserves the access of manual override function for the end-user to switch on/off, or adjust the light level by push-switch.

  • Short Push (<1s): permanent on/off function.
  • Long Push (>1s): adjust the brightness level.

Notes:

  1. Both the adjustment on App and the push switch can overwrite each other, the last adjustment remains in memory.
