Open/Close Doors, Gates

Description

The Doors function is used to control and display the status of doors and gates integrated into the PIERRE system through the Smart PIERRE application.

Configured doors are available:

  • on the Dashboard,

  • in the I/O List,

  • and in the Keys menu.

From these interfaces, users can control the doors and gates they are authorized to access.

Control

A door can be controlled directly from its corresponding card.

Depending on the system configuration, available functions may include:

  • unlocking the electric lock,

  • controlling the door or gate,

  • displaying the current status.

The door icon and image may change according to the available status information.

Doors and gates available to the user can also be controlled from the Keys menu.

Settings

Press and hold the Door card to access additional settings.

The following sections are available:

  • Edit

  • Automation

  • Used In

Edit

The Edit section allows the available door settings to be modified:

  • Name – Name of the door.

  • Open Position Photo – Image displayed for the open state.

  • Closed Position Photo – Image displayed for the closed state.

  • Slide to Confirm – Enables confirmation by a sliding gesture.

  • Timeout – Defines how long the unlock command remains active before the system returns the control to its default state.

Slide to Confirm

When Slide to Confirm is enabled, the door control action must be confirmed with a sliding gesture.

This helps prevent accidental unlocking and is particularly recommended for entrance doors, gates, and doors leading outside.

Timeout

The Timeout value should be configured according to the operation of the electric lock and the door.

The value should provide sufficient time for access while preventing the unlock command from remaining active longer than necessary.

Automation

The Automation section allows custom automations related to the door to be created.

For example:

  • unlocking the door when a valid RFID or other authorized credential is recognized,

  • time-based lock control,

  • triggering additional automations based on an access event.

The available automation options depend on the door configuration and other devices integrated into the PIERRE system.

Used In

The Used In section displays all Scenes and Automations in which the selected door is used.

Door Status

To display the actual physical Open / Closed state of the door, appropriate feedback, such as a door contact sensor, is required.

Without such feedback, the PIERRE system may know the issued control command or the control state of the lock, but this alone does not confirm whether the door is physically open or closed.

Technical Notes

  • Slide to Confirm is recommended for entrance doors, gates, and doors leading outside to help prevent accidental unlock commands.

  • The Timeout value should be configured according to the actual operating requirements of the specific lock and door.

  • A suitable door contact sensor is required for reliable feedback of the physical Open / Closed state.

  • For escape routes, fire-rated doors, or other safety-related doors, applicable fire, building, and safety requirements take priority over PIERRE automation functions.

  • Smart PIERRE door control must not replace or bypass any required mechanical release, emergency release, escape, or fire-safety function of the door.

Control of the Doors

Doors control is quick and simple, managed directly from the Keys menu.

You can also control them from the Dashboard.

Follow the example of the Front door.
