Smart PIERRE - RGB Lights
Description
The PIERRE PRO RGB function enables RGB LED strips to be integrated and controlled within the wired PIERRE PRO system.
The LED strip is controlled through a PIERRE PRO RGB Module. The module is installed between the PIERRE Controller and the LED strip and controls the red (R), green (G), and blue (B) channels to produce the desired colour and brightness.
The configured RGB lighting can be controlled through the Smart PIERRE application, as well as through Scenes and Automations.
RGB Control
RGB lighting uses three separate colour channels:
-
R – Red
-
G – Green
-
B – Blue
Different colours are produced by combining these three channels at different intensity levels.
The following functions can be controlled:
-
colour,
-
brightness,
-
On/Off state,
-
automatic operation through Scenes and Automations.
An RGB LED strip does not have a separate white channel. White light is created by mixing the R, G, and B channels, so its colour and light quality may differ from white light produced by a dedicated white LED channel.
If the lighting is also intended to be used as general room lighting, an LED strip with a dedicated white channel is recommended.
PIERRE RGB Module
Each individually controlled RGB LED strip requires a PIERRE RGB Module.
One module controls one RGB LED strip. The module is installed between the PIERRE Controller and the LED strip and controls the RGB channels according to the signals received from the Controller.
The module and LED strip must be provided with the appropriate power supply according to their technical requirements.
Scenes and Automations
RGB lighting can be used as part of Scenes and Automations.
This allows the colour, brightness, and operating state of the lighting to be automatically adjusted based on different events, conditions, or user-defined scenes.
Multiple RGB lights can be controlled within the same Scene, allowing the colour and brightness of several LED strips to be adjusted simultaneously.
The colour and brightness set by a Scene remain active until they are changed by another manual action, Scene, or Automation.
Technical Notes
-
Each individually controlled RGB LED strip requires a separate PIERRE RGB Module.
-
The operating voltage of the LED strip and the module must be compatible.
-
The required power supply capacity must be calculated based on the total length of the LED strip and its power consumption per metre (W/m).
-
An appropriate power reserve should be considered when selecting the power supply.
-
The PIERRE RGB Module and power supply should be installed in an accessible and adequately ventilated location.
-
RGB LED strips do not have a dedicated white channel; white light is produced by mixing the RGB channels.
-
Depending on the power consumption of the connected LED strip and the total system load, an RGB amplifier may be required. The need for an amplifier and its required capacity must be determined according to the connected load.
-
Wiring must always be carried out according to the current technical documentation and wiring diagrams of the PIERRE RGB Module, LED strip, power supply, and, where applicable, the RGB amplifier.
Control of the RGB Light
Controlling the RGB Light is simple and efficient, with everything managed directly from the Dashboard.
A slider displaying the Intensity level of the selected color is shown on the right side of the RGB Light card.
Follow the example of the Hall RGB Light.
On, Off, Auto - RGB Light
There are three buttons for controlling the RGB Light:
- On - Tap this button to turn On the RGB Light.
- Off - Tap this button to turn Off the RGB Light.
- Auto - If you tap the Auto button, the automation will activate when the conditions are met.
Turn the RGB Light On
To turn the RGB Light On, tap the On button.
The icon turns blue and picture of the RGB Light will change, indicating it has been turned On.
Turn the RGB Light Off
To turn the RGB Light Off, tap the Off button.
The icon turns grey and picture of the RGB Light will change, indicating it has been turned Off.
Set RGB Light to Auto Mode
If you tap the Auto button, the previously created automation for the RGB Light will be activated if all conditions are met. The icon of the RGB Light will turn blue, and the picture will update to reflect the On status.
If you tap the Auto button and some conditions from the automation are not met, the RGB Light will not activate. The icon will turn grey, and the picture will reflect the Off status. All conditions must be fulfilled for the automation to work.

Long press the card of the RGB Light.
Color - RGB Light
There are two ways to choose color for the RGB Light.
Open I/O list - RGB Light
Follow next steps to edit RGB Light.
Edit RGB Light
Tap on the Edit tab.
Fill out the following form:
- Name - Edit the name of the RGB Light.
- Photo - Choose the source of the photo for both On and Off statuses.
- Slide to confirm - When enabled, you'll be asked to confirm the operation to avoid accidental actions.
- Timeout - Set the duration for how long the RGB Light will stay On in auto mode.
Tap Submit/Done to save the changes.
GOOD TO KNOW:
The RGB Light can be edited by long-pressing the RGB Light card on the Dashboard or by tapping it in the I/O list.
Change photo - RGB Light
Tap the photo of the RGB Light. You have four options:
- Open Library - The phone’s Library will open. It is recommended to take pictures from the same angle for both RGB Light statuses to achieve a complete and consistent view.
- Open Camera - You can take a picture using your smartphone. For a complete and consistent view, it’s recommended to capture both RGB Light statuses from the same angle.
- Choose default image - These images are prepared in advance to provide a complete and seamless experience.
- Remove image - Removes the existing image.
Timeout - RGB Light
Choose Timeout - scroll through columns for the Hours, Minutes, Seconds.
In this case, Timeout is set on 2 minutes.
Tap Save button.
Find the RGB Light on the Dashboard
Set the RGB Light in the bedroom to activate based on time and motion.
At 8:00 PM, when motion is detected in the room, the RGB Light will turn on at 40% intensity with a calming purple color. After 9:30 PM, the light will automatically shift to a deep blue, promoting a relaxing atmosphere for winding down. If no motion is detected for 20 minutes, the light will turn off completely. This automation creates a soothing environment with soft colors and conserves energy when the room is empty.
Open I/O
In the Menu, under Settings, tap on the I/O.
Open I/O list - RGB Light
Open I/O list, scroll to the RGB Lights and tap on the desired RGB Light from the list.
In this case, Hall RGB Light.
+ Add new Automation - RGB Light
Tap on the tab Automation tab and then on the + Add new Automation.
Used In - RGB Light
The Used In tab shows all the scenarios and automations where the RGB Light is applied, making it easy to see where this I/O is used without the need to search manually. If it isn't used in any, the list will be empty, and a message will display: "This I/O is not in use anywhere." This feature is particularly useful as it consolidates all relevant information in one place.
