Alarm Wired

Description

This wiring example demonstrates a basic alarm and access control system based on a PIERRE Pro controller.

The system combines intrusion detection, access control, and alarm signaling functions using standard low-voltage devices connected directly to the controller.

System Components

The example system includes:

  • PIERRE Pro Controller

  • RFID Reader

  • Electromagnetic Lock

  • Motion Sensor

  • Contact Sensor

  • Siren

System Functionality

The system can provide:

  • Intrusion detection

  • Door and window monitoring

  • Access control

  • Audible alarm signaling

  • Automation functions

  • Event logging

  • Push notifications

Typical Operation

The Contact Sensor and Motion Sensor continuously monitor the protected area.

When an alarm condition is detected, the controller can execute predefined actions such as:

  • Activating the siren

  • Sending push notifications

  • Unlocking or locking doors

  • Executing automation rules

  • Recording events in the system log

Important Notice

The PIERRE system is a building automation and smart home control system and is not a certified fire alarm, gas detection, intrusion alarm, security alarm, life-safety, or emergency warning system.

While the system can monitor sensors, generate events, and send notifications, it must not be considered a replacement for certified safety or security systems where such systems are required by local regulations, insurance requirements, or project specifications.

Notifications, alarms, and automated actions are provided for convenience only and may depend on various external factors, including:

  • Internet connectivity
  • Power availability
  • Mobile network availability
  • Cloud service availability
  • Network infrastructure integrity
  • Mobile device settings

PIERRE shall not be liable for any personal injury, loss of life, property damage, financial loss, or other direct or indirect damages resulting from the failure, malfunction, interruption, improper installation, configuration, maintenance, or operation of the system or any connected devices.

The control of the magnetic lock may differ from the one shown. The following must be taken into account when designing:

  • Magnetic lock supply voltage (12VDC, 24VDC)
  • Opening method (Opens with voltage, Closes with voltage, Opens with dry contact)
  • Number of cables required (Dry contact opening requires 3 or 4 cables instead of 2!)
  • Magnetic lock current consumption (use a mechanical relay if necessary)

Technical Notes

  • All devices are connected directly to the PIERRE Pro controller.

  • The system operates as a low-voltage wired installation.

  • Automation rules can be used to extend alarm functionality.

  • Additional sensors and alarm devices can be integrated according to project requirements.

FAQ

Q
Is it possible to integrate a third-party alarm system, such as Paradox, into the Smart PIERRE system?
A

PIERRE can be integrated with conventional alarm systems, such as Paradox, using digital inputs and relay outputs. The integration is based on simple relay signal exchange. A relay output from the alarm system (for example, a siren or programmable output) can be connected to a PIERRE digital input, allowing PIERRE to detect alarm events and trigger automations or notifications. Likewise, a PIERRE relay output can be connected to an alarm system input, allowing the alarm system to react according to its configuration.
