On/Off Humidity/Temperature/Brightness Open/close valve Sauna, Pool

Description

The PIERRE system enables the control and monitoring of compatible sauna systems. The sauna can be turned on and off, the desired temperature can be set, and the current cabin temperature and humidity can be continuously monitored.

Sauna lighting can also be integrated into the PIERRE system, allowing different lighting settings, ambient lighting, and automated lighting functions to be created.

The sauna can be controlled locally from a PIERRE Display and, with an internet connection, remotely through the Smart PIERRE application.

The PIERRE system does not replace the sauna heater’s own control and safety system. Overheat protection, safety temperature limits, and all other required safety functions must be monitored and provided by the sauna system’s own control and safety system.

Sauna Heater Control

The operating command for the sauna heater can be controlled from the appropriate output of the PIERRE Controller.

The PIERRE system can provide functions including:

  • turning the sauna on and off,

  • setting the desired temperature,

  • displaying the current temperature,

  • displaying the current humidity,

  • scheduled and automated operation,

  • sending a notification when the sauna reaches the set temperature and is ready for use.

The available control functions always depend on the capabilities supported by the connected sauna heater and its own control system.

Temperature and Humidity

Temperature

The temperature inside the sauna cabin can be measured using a sensor suitable for high-temperature environments.

The measured value can be displayed in the PIERRE system and used as a condition for control and automation.

Humidity

The humidity inside the sauna cabin can also be measured and displayed in the PIERRE system using a suitable humidity sensor.

Only sensors suitable for the temperature and humidity conditions inside the sauna cabin may be used.

Automations

Sauna operation can also be controlled through Automations.

For example:

  • scheduled preheating,

  • time-based operation,

  • automatic shutdown after use,

  • notification when the desired temperature is reached,

  • temperature-based automations,

  • automatic control of lighting and ambient lighting.

Automations must not replace the sauna heater’s own safety limits and protection functions.

Control Options

Depending on the system configuration, the sauna can be controlled from:

  • the Smart PIERRE mobile application – internet connection required,

  • a tablet using the Smart PIERRE application – internet connection required,

  • a local PIERRE Display.

Technical Notes

  • The sauna heater’s own overheat protection, safety temperature limits, and other factory safety functions must always remain active.

  • The PIERRE system is a building automation system and does not replace the sauna heater’s factory control and safety system.

  • Only a PIERRE sensor suitable for the temperature and humidity range inside the sauna cabin may be used.

  • A sauna heater is a high-power electrical load. Power switching must be implemented through a properly rated contactor and a suitably protected electrical circuit.

  • The maximum operating time of the sauna heater must also be limited by the sauna heater’s own control and safety system; this must not rely solely on a PIERRE Automation.

  • Remote start may only be used if permitted by the sauna heater manufacturer, the system design, and applicable regulations.

  • Installation and wiring must always be carried out according to the sauna heater manufacturer’s technical documentation and the applicable PIERRE wiring diagram.
