The Dimmable Lights section in the Smart Pierre app allows users to control and customize the brightness of connected dimmable lights. These lights can be found on both the Dashboard and the I/O list, offering convenient control options.
Key Features:
1. Dashboard Control:
- The lights can be easily controlled with On, Off, and Auto buttons directly from the Dashboard, giving users instant access to adjust the lights' settings. A brightness level indicator is also visible on the Dashboard, showing the current dimming level.
2. Edit and Dim:
- Users can edit the settings of the dimmable lights and adjust their brightness levels through dimming functionality, offering flexibility in creating the desired ambiance. By long-pressing the light card, users can access the Intensity tab for finer control of brightness levels.
3. Visual Feedback:
- The icon and picture of the light change according to the status of the light, providing quick visual confirmation of whether the light is On, Off, or in Auto mode.
4. Automation and Scenarios:
- Dimmable lights can be automated and included in various scenarios, allowing them to adjust their brightness automatically based on triggers like time, motion sensors, or other events within the system.
The Dimmable Lights section provides full control over light dimming, status monitoring, and automation, making it easy to customize the lighting environment in your smart home.
Controlling the Dimmable Light is easy and efficient, all managed directly from the Dashboard.
A slider displaying the dimming level of the Dimmable light is shown on the right side of its card.
Follow the example of the Hall door LED.
There are three buttons for controlling the Dimmable Light:
- On - Tap this button to turn On the Dimmable Light.
- Off - Tap this button to turn Off the Dimmable Light.
- Auto - If you tap the Auto button, the automation will activate when the conditions are met.
To turn on the Dimmable Light, tap the On button.
The icon turns blue and picture of the Dimmable Light will change, indicating it has been turned On.
To turn off the Dimmable Light, tap the Off button.
The icon turns grey and picture of the Dimmable Light will change, indicating it has been turned Off.
If you tap the Auto button, the previously created automation for the Dimmable Light will be activated if all conditions are met. The icon of the Dimmable Light will turn blue, and the picture will update to reflect the On status.
If you tap the Auto button and some conditions from the automation are not met, the Dimmable Light will not activate. The icon will turn grey, and the picture will reflect the Off status. All conditions must be fulfilled for the automation to work.
Long press the card of the Dimmable Light and set dimming level.
The Intensity tab will be selected.
You can use the following buttons for control:
- On - Tap to turn on the Dimmable Light.
- Off - Tap to turn off the Dimmable Light.
- Auto - Tap to enable automation based on predefined conditions.
Dimming level and icon of the Dimmable light on the slider will be changed according to change of the status (On, Off, Auto).
Additionally, you can use the slider to adjust the dim level manually by sliding your finger to the desired dimming level.
The dimming level set here will be displayed on the right side of the Dimming Light card on the Dashboard if the light is part of any groups shown on the Dashboard.
To confirm tap button Done.
To edit the Dimmable Light settings, first find in on the I/O list.
Scroll to the Dimmable Lights and tap on the desired Dimmable Light from the list.

Tap on the Edit tab.
Fill out the following form:
- Name - Edit the name of the Dimmable Light.
- Photo - Choose the source of the photo for both On and Off statuses.
- Slide to confirm - When enabled, you'll be asked to confirm the action to avoid accidental triggers.
- Timeout - Set the duration for how long the Dimmable Light remains On in auto mode.
Tap Submit/Done to save the changes.
GOOD TO KNOW:
The Dimmable Light can be edited by long-pressing the Dimmable Light card on the Dashboard or by tapping it in the I/O list.
Long press the photo of the Dimmable light. You have four options:
- Open Library - The phone’s Library will open. It is recommended to take pictures from the same angle for both Dimmable Light statuses to achieve a complete and consistent view.
- Open Camera - You can take a picture using your smartphone. For a complete and consistent view, it’s recommended to capture both Dimmable Light statuses from the same angle.
- Choose default image - These images are prepared in advance to provide a complete and seamless experience.
- Remove image - Removes the existing image.
Choose Timeout - scroll through columns for the Hours, Minutes, Seconds.
In this case, Timeout is set for 2 minutes.
Tap Save button.
The Used In tab shows all the scenarios and automations where the Dimmable Light is applied, making it easy to see where this I/O is used without the need to search manually. If it isn't used in any, the list will be empty, and a message will display: "This I/O is not in use anywhere." This feature is particularly useful as it consolidates all relevant information in one place.
In this case Dimmable Light is used in four scenarios.
Dimmable Light can be automated in PIERRE application based on time.
Open the Dashboard, find the Dimmable Light and log press its card.
In the Menu, under Settings, tap on the I/O.
Scroll to the Dimmable Lights and tap on the desired Dimmable Light from the list.

Tap on the tab Automation and than on the +Add new Automation in order to add new automation.
