The Roles section in the Settings of the Smart Pierre app allows you to define and manage specific roles that control access to various I/Os and apply time-based restrictions.
Key Features:
1. Role Overview:
• This section displays all existing roles, each showing:
• The number of I/Os the role grants access to.
• The time limitations on access.
• The name of the role.
2. Add New Role:
• The Add button allows you to create a new role. You can specify what devices and areas this role has access to and set time restrictions.
3. Role Configuration:
• Tapping on any role opens a form where you can:
• Edit the role name.
• Set the duration or time limits for the role’s access.
• Choose the I/Os that the role can interact with.
4. Assigning Roles to Users:
• Roles are assigned to users, defining which I/Os they can access and controlling their permissions within the system.
The Roles section ensures controlled access within the smart home, allowing for detailed permission settings that are easy to configure and manage.
Open Roles under Settings.
Tap on the Roles from the Menu list.
List of Roles is shown.
You can see all Roles at one place, or you can add new Role or edit any of them from the list if you tap on it.
Add new Role in a few steps.
Tap on the Add button in order to add new Role.
Fill the following form:
- Name - Write the name of the Role.
- Access Time - ALL TIME and LIMITED TIME.
Limited time means that the user does not have access every day of the week and all day.
If LIMITED TIME is selected:
- Start date - Select the Start day from the Calendar.
- End date - Select the End day from the Calendar.
- Days - Select days.
If 0-24 field is disabled set Start time and End time.
- Start time - Set Start time.
- End time - Set End time.
- Timezone - Select the Timezone.
- I/Os - Add a new I/O.
If ALL TIME is selected tap on the Add a new I/O.
Tap button Save.
In case that your access permissions are valid during limited time, you should set Start date and End date by click in these fields, and set them on the Calendar.
Start date, in this case is 20th September 2024 and End date is 30th December 2024.
When you want to confirm your choice tap on OK.
Start time and End time fields will show you clock and icon of the keyboard in order to set these two parameters.
Tap the button OK. In case that you want to cancel it tap the button Cancel.
(Time conditions are used in auto mode or triggering I/Os activation/deactivation in a set time frame. It can be added as a part of the scenario or I/O in to Auto mode condition section.)
Choose Timezone region from the list.
(Tap on the desired zone.)
In this case tap on Europe.
Select Timezone (click on the radio button next to it) and confirm it by clicking on button Done.
In this case, Europe/Belgrade Timezone is selected.
The list of I/O's is shown, so you can add or remove I/O's.
Select the check box/boxes next to the desired I/O or I/Os that you would like to add or remove.
Tap the button Save.
There are options to filter I/O's.
There are two groups of the I/O's - Slide to confirm and Enabled.
Also, you can choose Types of the I/O's here.
Tap on the button Save.
You can select types of the I/Os by tapping in the check box/checkboxes - for multiple choice, next to the desired I/Os.
Tap on Save/Done.
Edit Role in a few steps.
Tap on the Roles from the Menu list.
List of Roles is shown.
You can see all Roles at one place, or you can add new Role or edit any of them from the list if you tap on it.
Edit following form:
- Name - Write the name of the Role.
- Access Time - ALL TIME and LIMITED TIME.

Tap button Done, or if you want to delete Role tap button Delete.
Only the I/Os assigned to that specific Role will be displayed in the list.
Tap on Show All I/Os.
