The PIERRE Room Control Display Rio 4" is a compact yet powerful device designed to manage smart home systems efficiently.
- 4-Inch HD Touchscreen: Provides an intuitive interface for controlling various room functions such as lighting, blinds, and temperature from a single, easy-to-use panel.
- Compact Design: Ideal for smaller rooms where space is limited, offering functionality without compromising on performance.
- Seamless Integration: Integrates effortlessly with the PIERRE smart home system for full control over all connected devices.
- Built-In Sensors: Brightness Sensor: Triggers lights to turn on when room brightness drops below a certain level.
- Installation and Integration: Wall or Panel Mounting: Easy to install with versatile mounting options.
- Quick Integration: Seamlessly integrates into the PIERRE smart home system, making it a versatile control hub for any room.
- Integrated Output Relays and Connectivity: Two Output Relays: Each capable of handling 200W per circuit for direct connection to devices like floor heating, lights or water valves.
- Connectivity: Supports wireless network, LAN cable connections, communicates using the Wave/Zigbee protocol for wireless IOs connection.
- Wave device: It communicates and connects with other smart home devices wirelessly.
- It is a Display that also serves as a Pierre Wave Gateway. It enables connectivity and control of Pierre Wave devices within the smart home ecosystem.
- Cabling:
- Minimum requirements for cabling from the electrical box to the display: 2 x 1.5 mm² PP/Y for Live (L) and Neutral (N).
- Preferred setup from the electrical box to the display: 5 x 1.5 mm² PP/Y.
- We recommend this wiring setup because it allows the relay connection for the displays to be managed with a single wire. The two relay outputs of the displays are set up to also allow control of the desired devices directly from the electrical distribution box.
Position | Wires | Diameter | Type | Comment |

What happens if the internet goes down?
The system will continue to function locally without internet access, but remote access (such as controlling devices from a phone while away) will not be possible.
Can the display’s sound be adjusted?
Yes, the display sound can be adjusted. Swipe down from the top of the display to access the menu, where you can find sound settings.
Do displays need to be connected to a controller?
Displays connect to the system through the network, either wired or wireless, and do not require a direct connection to the Controller.
Can the display size be upgraded?
Yes, you can easily replace a smaller display with a larger one, as the system supports such upgrades.
Does the Rio display have a temperature sensor?
No, the Rio display does not have a built-in temperature sensor, but an external sensor can be connected.
Are the displays waterproof?
No, the displays are not waterproof and are not suitable for installation in areas exposed to moisture or rain.
Is a thermostat required?
No, a classic thermostat is not necessary. Instead, a temperature sensor integrated with the PIERRE system can monitor the room’s temperature and manage the heating/cooling devices accordingly.
Does Pierre have its own thermostat?
Yes, PIERRE offers its own smart thermostats, which can be found in the thermostat product category.
Can a display work as a thermostat?
Yes, most Pierre displays have built-in temperature sensors and can control heating/cooling systems just like a thermostat. All displays have relays that can send signals to heating/cooling devices to turn them on or off.
If I remove an old thermostat, can I replace it with a PIERRE display for heating control?
Yes, you can replace an old thermostat with a PIERRE display, as long as the display includes a temperature sensor for temperature monitoring.
Can the display relay control underfloor heating valves?
Yes, the display can control underfloor heating valves as well as other heating and cooling systems.
Can the Rio display work as a thermostat?
No, the Rio display does not have a built-in temperature sensor, but it can still manage the heating or cooling devices by controlling the power circuit. An external temperature sensor can be connected to the system.
What is required for connecting displays?
To operate displays, they need a power connection (2x1.5 mm² – phase and neutral) and internet access through a UTP cable.
How can heat quantity measurement be solved with the PIERRE system?
To measure heat quantity, a PIERRE Pro Controller and an Intesis Mbus to Modbus converter are required. The heat meters are connected in series to the PIERRE Controller.
