Description

In the PIERRE smart home system, blinds control is designed to offer maximum flexibility and convenience, enabling users to manage their blinds through a variety of methods.

  1. Control by Smart PIERRE app: Users can operate the blinds manually via the Smart PIERRE mobile application, where they can open or close them with a simple tap. The system also provides precise control over the angle of the lamellas, allowing users to adjust light intensity or privacy without fully closing the blinds. Blinds can be raised or lowered to any desired position, with the flexibility to stop them at any point.
  2. Automated Schedules: The system supports automated schedules, allowing the blinds to be programmed to raise or lower at specific times of the day. For example, they can be set to open with the sunrise to let in natural light or close in the evening for privacy. This feature enhances comfort and energy efficiency by automating the blinds' movement based on user preferences.
  3. Environmental Integration: The blinds can integrate with environmental sensors for real-time adjustments. The angle of the lamellas can be automatically adjusted based on sunlight levels or temperature, optimizing both light exposure and energy efficiency. For instance, the system can tilt the lamellas to block harsh sunlight during peak hours while still allowing some daylight in, reducing the need for artificial lighting and air conditioning.
  4. System Interaction: The blinds can also interact with other PIERRE system features, such as lighting, climate control, and security systems. When the security system is armed, the blinds can automatically close to enhance privacy and protection. This level of integration ensures that the PIERRE blinds system not only improves comfort but also contributes to a more energy-efficient and secure home environment.
  5. Wiring and Installation: To integrate the blinds, connect the electric motors with the necessary wiring—up direction (L1), down direction (L2), neutral (N), and protective earth (PE). Ensure proper installation to enable smooth operation and effective automation.

Troubleshooting
What to do if Blinds/Curtains don't work?

First we need to separate the PIERRE smart home system from blinds/curtains, to check if everything works without smart control.

How to check how the Blinds/Curtains behave without PIERRE smart home system?

You have to connect L1 or L2 directly to the fuse.

When the relays and/or varistors in the relay should be checked?

If an error occurs that implies that the blind/curtain is lowered by pressing the button and returns independently when the button is released the relays and/or varistors in the relay should be checked.

What to do if the motor does not raise or lower the Blinds/Curtains?

If the motor does not raise or lower the blinds, the motor only makes a "buzzing" sound, the relay should be checked again. On the relay, it is necessary to check how much return current the relay receives and whether it is a problem of relay burnout.

What to do If the engine does not perform any function?

If the engine does not perform any function, does not make a sound as if it is in operation, measure the resistance of the motor and determine that the motor is faulty.

How to manually adjust the upper and lower stop points during installation and comissioning?

During installation and before commissioning, it is important to manually adjust the upper and lower stop points.
This is adjusted by the  fine adjustment on the motor itself.
Motor has its own manual control. If this adjustment is not done correctly, the blind will either not raise enough, or it doesn't go all the way down.

Can Blinds be controlled without a switch?

Yes, Blinds can be controlled without a physical switch through the PIERRE APP or display.

How should the Blinds be wired?

Each Blind motor should have a dedicated wire to the PIERRE distribution box, and each switch must also have a direct wire to the PIERRE distribution box.
